The ICON Foundation is proud to announce that ICONLOOP (formerly \u2018theloop\u2019)\u2019s core blockchain engine, loopchain, is being applied to \u2018Digital Plaza for Small Business\u2019 program.\u00a0Korea Financial Investment Association (KOFIA)<\/a>, in which ICONLOOP is the blockchain technology partner, signed a three-party business agreement on August 13th with\u00a0Korea Federation of Micro Enterprise (KFME)<\/a>\u00a0and Smart Fintech Research Center of Sogang University.<\/p>\n

Small Business is an important sector of the Korea economy, representing 7 million people in Korea and 40% of the country\u2019s employment. However, this sector has been experiencing a crisis due to competition from the large companies. \u2018Digital Plaza for Small Business\u2019 is a program that facilitates trading, smart contracts, financial services, and policy support to enhance the competitiveness for micro enterprise owners.<\/p>\n

According to the agreement, Korea Financial Investment Blockchain Consortium is providing financial consulting, CHAIN \u200b\u200bID, and smart contract application.\u00a0CHAIN \u200b\u200bID<\/a>, which is currently being used be 11 securities firms in Korea, is the world\u2019s first blockchain based joint authentication developed using ICONLOOP\u2019s blockchain engine \u2018loopchain\u2019. In addition, CHAIN ID has signed a business agreement with\u00a0Samsung Pass<\/a>\u00a0in May.<\/p>\n

\u201cBlockchain technology is very meaningful for the small business community and I hope that this is a chance to introduce blockchain technology to other communities in the future,\u201d said J.H. Kim, the CEO of ICONLOOP.<\/p>\n

ICONLOOP\u2019s blockchain technology that will be applied to the \u2018Digital Plaza for Small Business\u2019 program is expected to mitigate the cryptocurrency price volatility by implementing a stable coin method and to improve security by using CHAIN \u200b\u200bID.<\/p>\n
