[Seoul, September 17, 2026] Web3 Enabler PARAMETA (formerly ICONLOOP, CEO JH Kim) announced that it has jointly completed a proof of concept (PoC) with Shinhan EZ General Insurance covering the insurance process end to end — from product creation through settlement — including premium payment and claim disbursement using deposit tokens.

The PoC went beyond applying deposit tokens to premium payment and claim disbursement. Its focus was on validating a structure that connects insurance operations as a whole on a blockchain foundation, so that adjudication evidence and processing history can be verified. The two companies implemented the full processing flow — product creation, premium collection, adjudication data collection, payout-condition adjudication, claim disbursement, exception handling, and settlement — in a test environment, and reviewed how each stage links to the next.

The subject of the validation was parametric insurance, which pays out according to external indicators and conditions defined in advance. Using blockchain technology, the two companies implemented a trustworthy adjudication and disbursement environment based on external indicators such as weather, and confirmed a structure in which adjudication data and processing history can be traced.

Building on its own digital asset financial infrastructure, ParaSta, PARAMETA implemented the insurance process end to end in a test environment using blockchain and smart contracts — from product registration and premium collection to data adjudication based on external indicators, claim disbursement, exception handling, and settlement.

The companies confirmed a collection structure in which deposit tokens and conventional payments can be used side by side, along with a structure for tracing adjudication data and processing history. Together with Shinhan EZ General Insurance, PARAMETA validated the applicability of the approach across insurance operations as a whole, including both automated processing and exception review.

"Parametric insurance, resting on objective external indicators and clearly defined payout conditions, is a fitting area in which to examine the potential for digital transformation in insurance operations," said Shinhan EZ General Insurance CEO Byungkwan Kang. "Through this PoC we confirmed a structure that connects insurance operations as a whole — premium payment and claim disbursement using deposit tokens, and also product creation, adjudication, exception handling, and settlement. As the relevant regulations and conditions take shape, we will realize it step by step."

"What makes this validation significant is that it did not stop at using deposit tokens as a simple means of payment. It implemented the entire process — adjudicating insurance conditions on the basis of external indicators, then connecting that through to disbursement and settlement," said PARAMETA CEO JH Kim. "Building on blockchain infrastructure that supports financial institutions in their use of digital assets, PARAMETA will examine the possibilities from multiple angles together with Shinhan EZ General Insurance, including giving concrete shape to the scope of application across insurance operations."
