PARAMETA Signs Strategic MOU with HanaTech, Global Stablecoin Payment Wallet Provider
- – Joint research on a next-generation DID-based KYC model and global stablecoin payment infrastructure

September 29, 2025, Seoul — Web3 Enabler PARAMETA (formerly ICONLOOP, CEO JH Kim) announced that it has signed a strategic memorandum of understanding (MOU) with HanaTech (CEO Mark Jones), provider of the global stablecoin payment service HanaWallet. Under the agreement, the two companies plan to jointly research and develop a next-generation KYC-based stablecoin model and stablecoin debit card infrastructure.
HanaWallet is a Web3 wallet specialist offering multichain digital asset management and stablecoin debit card services. Through HanaWallet, users can instantly convert digital assets such as Bitcoin, Ethereum, and Stellar on their phones, issue them as a virtual card, and spend them at merchants worldwide. The service is spreading rapidly, centered on Australia, where users are already treating stablecoins as an everyday means of payment for hotels, shopping, and daily expenses.
Through this partnership, PARAMETA and HanaWallet will jointly explore △ validation of a next-generation KYC-based stablecoin model △ a global PoC for stablecoin debit cards △ the potential for expansion into Korean won (KRW)-based services.
A key driver behind the collaboration is that while discussion of issuing and using won-denominated stablecoins has been active in Korea, concrete discussion of the technical requirements has lagged. Presenting a practical model capable of satisfying regulatory requirements such as KYC and AML has emerged as an especially urgent task.
Unlike the existing structure, in which central institutions such as banks and exchanges directly verify and manage a user's wallets on each blockchain network, the next-generation KYC-based stablecoin model issues a user a DID at initial KYC — after which simply adding a wallet makes it reusable across multiple networks and services. This is expected to reduce duplicated procedures while securing multichain scalability and rapid adoption.
The global stablecoin debit card PoC, meanwhile, will use HanaWallet's infrastructure already operating in Australia to validate the implementation and operating model for stablecoin-based debit cards in practice, providing a basis for gauging applicability in Korea's payment market.
"This partnership is an important opportunity to validate everyday payments and next-generation KYC innovation at the same time," said PARAMETA CEO JH Kim. "We will work closely with HanaWallet to bring a won-based stablecoin debit card and a DID-based KYC model to the Korean market."
"Working with PARAMETA gives us an opportunity to validate a new model combining DID-based KYC with stablecoin payment infrastructure," said HanaTech CEO Mark Jones. "Building on the stablecoin debit card already operating in Australia, this partnership will demonstrate the potential for expansion globally, including in Korea. That will be an important foundation for broader institutional participation and for stablecoin payments entering the market in earnest."
