PARAMETA Joins Blockchain and Fintech Competition as a Collaborating Company

June 8, 2023, Seoul — Web3 Enabler PARAMETA (formerly ICONLOOP, CEO JH Kim) announced on the 8th that it is participating as a collaborating company in BEST* Challenge, the blockchain and fintech competition run by the Ministry of Science and ICT (Minister Jongho Lee) and the Korea Internet & Security Agency (KISA, President Wontae Lee).

As a collaborating company, PARAMETA plans to handle pre-competition training, mentoring, and judging for entrants in the Blockchain Challenge track, which is held to explore solutions to the technical problems arising in blockchain service development.
Held to identify innovative blockchain and fintech technology, the competition comprises three tracks: ▲ (Track 1) an alternative data-based fintech ideathon, presenting fintech service ideas that make use of alternative data such as non-financial data; ▲ (Track 2) the Blockchain Challenge, presenting solutions to problems arising in applied blockchain services such as STOs and NFTs; ▲ (Track 3) a blockchain and fintech-based ESG service competition, presenting approaches to applying ESG using blockchain and fintech technology.
The competition is open to any individual or small business interested in blockchain and fintech (teams of up to five), with online applications* accepted until July 17. During the application and competition period, specialists from PARAMETA and the other collaborating companies will provide pre-competition training and mentoring for entrants. The 28 teams ultimately selected through presentation assessments will receive awards (28 in total, including the Minister of Science and ICT Award, the KISA President's Award, and collaborating company CEO awards) and prize money totaling KRW 45.5 million.
