PARAMETA and GREENERY Cooperate to Build a Carbon Credit Fractional Investment Platform
March 14, 2023, Seoul — Web3 Enabler PARAMETA (formerly ICONLOOP, CEO JH Kim) is cooperating with GREENERY (CEO Yusik Hwang), operator of POPLE — Korea's first trading platform for voluntary carbon reduction credits — to build a carbon credit fractional investment platform and grow the voluntary carbon market.
To build the platform, PARAMETA and GREENERY will cooperate on the infrastructure required for security token (STO) issuance and distribution and conduct joint technical research. The companies expect the platform, which applies STOs to carbon credit investment — a field individuals have found difficult to access — to create opportunities for more participants to contribute to hastening the carbon-neutral era.
The platform will be jointly developed on the basis of PARAMETA S (STO as a Service), which provides the full range of security token technology via APIs, together with GREENERY's technology and expertise in carbon neutrality.
GREENERY, PARAMETA's partner in this effort, provides a range of solutions for carbon neutrality. Through POPLE (www.pople.kr), Korea's first trading platform for voluntary carbon reduction credits, it supports corporate and individual carbon-neutral activity while leading efforts to spread a culture of investment in new carbon-neutral technologies.
The two companies also plan to cooperate actively on the broader requirements for growing the voluntary carbon market, including carbon credit business.
