ICONLOOP Applies DID Technology to Nayana, Gangwon Province's Integrated Digital Service Platform
May 12, 2021, Seoul — ICONLOOP (CEO JH Kim), a leading Korean blockchain company, announced on the 12th that it is taking part in the project to build Nayana, Gangwon Province's integrated digital service platform, and applying its own DID (Decentralized Identifier) technology to it.
The project is being pursued under the vision of "digital transformation for all Gangwon residents, its entire economy, and all provincial administration," and will support non-face-to-face economic activity as a whole — including services and information for the provincial government and its residents, such as non-face-to-face payment of subsidies like disaster relief funds, and greater convenience through the integration of digital services. A consortium of Douzone Bizon and ICONLOOP is serving as the implementing organization.
Nayana, Gangwon Province's integrated digital service platform, is a mobile-based next-generation multi-platform that brings together everyday services previously scattered across administration, the economy, welfare, and other areas. Beyond resolving existing inconveniences, it will return benefits to residents as the subjects of their own information and realize data sovereignty that individuals can control themselves at any time.
ICONLOOP is applying its DID technology to Nayana to simplify previously complex application processes and required documentation, while extending usability into resident identity verification, credential verification, finance, and other fields through integrated online and offline identity verification. When a DID is issued, users can see at a glance the administrative services suited to them, based on the data they provide and their own settings, and the company also plans to expand the range of services available to users of existing DID services such as Gangwon Health Up.
To ensure the successful construction and operation of Nayana, ICONLOOP today signed a mutual cooperation agreement with Gangwon Province and with digital innovation companies across a range of fields, including Douzone Bizon, Shinhan Bank, NH NongHyup Bank, and the Korea Simple Payment Promotion Foundation (ZeroPay). As Korea's first individual-centered integrated platform for provincial administration services, Nayana is expected to contribute significantly to residents' quality of life and their satisfaction with public administration.
