PARAMETA is leading the build-out of shared blockchain infrastructure for public institutions, accelerating the digital transformation of Korea's public agencies and delivering more efficient, more secure public services through blockchain technology.

Shared Blockchain Infrastructure for Public Institutions: The Digital Innovation PARAMETA Is Building

Shared blockchain infrastructure for public institutions radically simplifies the complicated, inefficient way blockchain has been adopted until now. It is a cloud-based SaaS platform that an agency can adopt within a week through sign-up and service configuration alone. Starting with DID (Decentralized Identifier) and NFT (Non-Fungible Token), it is designed so that public institutions can pick and choose the blockchain services they actually need.

The PARAMETA consortium is preparing to obtain CSAP (Cloud Security Assurance Program) certification, doing everything it can to make blockchain something public institutions can use safely and trust. That means agencies can run blockchain-based services easily without a heavy cost burden, and offer the public digital administrative services they can trust more.

Through this project, PARAMETA aims to strengthen Korea's competitiveness in blockchain and build a model of digital innovation that earns recognition on the global stage as well. We are excited about the new possibilities that shared blockchain infrastructure for public institutions will open up — so please keep watching and cheering us on!

EBSI

The EU has the European Blockchain Services Infrastructure (EBSI), an initiative aimed at building public blockchain infrastructure. EBSI has been led by the European Commission. EDIC, by contrast, operates as a body overseeing the application of blockchain across a range of fields, with the EU presidency — which rotates every six months — leading its operation, including funding. According to Daniël Du Seuil, Belgium's representative on EBSI, EDIC is seen as relatively better suited to cooperation between countries and between institutions.

BSN (Blockchain-based Service Network) is a government framework being developed in China for blockchain developers. BSN makes it easier and cheaper to develop and manage blockchains and the applications that run on them. Launched last year, China's BSN was prepared to serve as infrastructure supporting financial and commercial activity.
