Gangwon Province's integrated service platform, built on ICONLOOP DID technology, is now live
Nayana, Gangwon Province's integrated service platform built on ICONLOOP's DID (Decentralized Identifier) technology, has officially launched.
Nayana is Korea's first blockchain-based integrated service platform providing administrative and e-commerce services. Built on 87 categories of the Ministry of the Interior and Safety's public MyData, including resident registration, it lets you conveniently access a wide range of services with a single authentication. Nayana is part of a project whose vision is the digital transformation of all Gangwon residents, its entire economy, and all provincial administration; development began in May last year, with a consortium of Douzone Bizon and ICONLOOP working alongside the provincial government.
ICONLOOP applied its own DID technology to Nayana to simplify previously complex application processes and required documentation, and to enable expansion beyond the resident card into finance and other fields through integrated online and offline identity verification. So when a DID is issued through Nayana, you can see at a glance the administrative services suited to you, based on the data you provide and your own settings. The company also plans to extend the range of services available to users of existing DID services such as Gangwon Health Up.
Ahead of the official launch, more than 3,000 Gangwon residents downloaded and used the Nayana beta application listed on Google Play and the Apple App Store during roughly two weeks of pilot operation from April 1, taking part in development by offering all kinds of feedback for improvement.

With this official launch, the services available through Nayana include the electronic resident card, remote subsidies (basic childcare allowance, farming and fishing allowance, disaster relief funds), personalized service recommendations, electronic voting (policy participation and surveys), e-commerce (Gangwon The Mall), and messaging, chat, and stories. In the second half of this year, coverage is set to expand to library membership cards, tourist site access, and services specific to individual cities and counties.
Alongside the launch, a signing ceremony to promote the spread and development of Nayana was held on the morning of the 18th at Douzone Bizon's Gangchon campus. Attendees included Gangwon Governor Moonsoon Choi, Chuncheon Deputy Mayor Jinpyo Jeon, Douzone Bizon Chairman Yongwoo Kim, ICONLOOP CEO JH Kim, and representatives of SK Telecom, KT, and LG Uplus, who demonstrated the service and agreed to cooperate on promoting the Nayana application and expanding its services.
The launch of Nayana marks the starting point of genuine digital transformation, in that residents can now enjoy more convenient and secure administrative services through a DID-based integrated service platform. ICONLOOP will keep doing its utmost for the digital transformation of all Gangwon residents, its entire economy, and all provincial administration, through the continued expansion of DID infrastructure.
