Meet SPERA, the interchain NFT gaming platform being built through the ICONLOOP-ICON Foundation-2bytes partnership.

Here is SPERA, the blockchain-based interchain NFT gaming platform that will be built this year through a strategic partnership between ICONLOOP, the ICON Foundation, and 2bytes.
SPERA is an interchain NFT gaming platform that connects NFTs issued across many different blockchain networks and platforms into an interoperable form. Using BTP (Blockchain Transmission Protocol), the interchain technology that links multiple blockchains, the plan is to let NFTs from different ecosystems and different chains be connected to and used inside games on the SPERA platform.
So how does it actually work? Let's take a closer look. :)
SPERA
What is SPERA?
SPERA is an interchain NFT gaming platform built for the universal use of NFTs.
Ecosystem participants can bring NFTs they hold on various networks over to SPERA and use them in all sorts of ways across different blockchain games — overcoming the limitation of NFTs whose "utility" only ever existed inside one specific network or service.
That means you can use the NFTs you own as Play-and-Earn tools across many blockchain games, free of network and service boundaries, and trade the rewards you earn from playing on the marketplace to generate new income.
Spera = interchain NFT + universal NFT utility + play & rewards
Stations
What are Stations?
A Station acts as an operating node that activates NFTs issued outside the SPERA blockchain so they can be used inside the SPERA ecosystem.
Only the owner can run a Station, and users who own and run one earn SPRA — the ecosystem's main utility token, issued under its own standard on the SPERA chain — as a reward for contributing to the ecosystem.
What Stations do
1. Interchain Activation
Stations activate NFTs from external chains so they can be used universally across the SPERA ecosystem, regardless of network or game service. Users who own and run a Station receive SPRA as a reward for that contribution.
2. Governance
Stations will also be used for participation in SPERA governance. Over the long term, Station owners will be able to exercise voting rights on key matters such as the SPERA roadmap, the selection of NFT projects, and feature updates.
SPRA
What is SPRA?
SPRA is the ecosystem's main utility token, issued under its own standard on the SPERA chain.
How SPRA is issued
SPRA is issued as a reward for contribution activities: owning a Station and running a node, activating your own NFTs, and staking the SPRA you hold.
It can also be earned as a Play-and-Earn reward, according to each game's own policy.
What SPRA is for
SPRA is required to buy Stations on the SPERA platform and to use the marketplace within it, and it is used across a range of other platform activities as well.
1. Buying Stations
SPRA can be used to purchase Stations, the core contribution activity in the SPERA ecosystem.
2. Staking
By staking SPRA, ecosystem participants help stabilize the token economy and earn additional SPRA.
3. Using the marketplace
Ecosystem participants can list and sell NFTs they have acquired through various routes on the marketplace. NFTs listed there can be purchased with SPRA.
4. Play-and-Earn
Players are given the chance to potentially earn SPRA through gameplay. Some games may require you to deposit or spend a small amount of SPRA to start playing.
5. Applying to the launchpad
Games and game studios that want to take part in the SPERA platform's launchpad can apply to register as a launchpad candidate on the condition that they deposit a set quantity of SPRA.
6. Using the launchpad
Game studios can use the launchpad program when they release a game. Users who want to join a launchpad program can do so with SPRA.
NFT
What counts as an NFT here?
On the SPERA platform, NFTs are divided into "non-activated NFTs" and "activated NFTs."
1. Non-activated NFTs
These are NFTs issued by services or networks outside SPERA that have not been activated. Non-activated NFTs cannot be used in the SPERA ecosystem.
2. Activated NFTs
These are NFTs newly issued through a Station in a form that can be used universally inside the ecosystem. Activated NFTs can be used across the SPERA ecosystem, and how they are used and represented may differ from game to game.
Putting NFTs to use
1. Activation rewards
NFT holders can equip and activate their NFTs on the SPERA platform, earning a share of rewards from the ecosystem contribution reward pool.
2. In-game use
Each game in the SPERA ecosystem receives information about activated NFTs and represents them in its own way, so players can use the NFTs they have activated on the platform inside every game, no matter what type of NFT it is.
3. Generating income
NFT holders can sell the NFTs they own on the marketplace to earn income. The NFT must be in an activated state within SPERA to do so.
