A press roundtable on SPERA, hosted with 2bytes
On January 27, a press roundtable was held at the ICONLOOP lounge. Co-hosted by ICONLOOP and 2bytes, the event was arranged to introduce SPERA — the blockchain-based interchain NFT game platform unveiled four days earlier, on January 23 (related coverage) — to explain the thinking behind its launch and the plans ahead, and to trade views with the reporters in the room.
The platform takes an NFT game ecosystem that has been locked inside one blockchain at a time and opens it up, which is still an unfamiliar idea. So when word of the SPERA project first got out, a great many reporters came to us with questions and interest. That is exactly why we put together a media roundtable: to lay out accurate information, the current state of progress and the underlying technology, and at the same time to hear the concerns, opinions and suggestions the press had of their own.
Over roughly an hour and a half, we shared the background to the collaboration between ICONLOOP, the ICON Foundation and 2bytes, along with where development currently stands, and walked through the overall plan for how NFTs living on other platforms will be put to use. The conversation that followed — a wide range of views and proposals on the project, and a candid exchange about where the industry is heading — made it a genuinely worthwhile session.
SPERA is still at an early stage, and we are grateful for all the interest and encouragement it has received. In line with the roadmap ahead, a second teaser and the specifics of the service will be revealed in stages.
