A commendation from Jeju Province for Jeju Safe Code

Today, December 31, ICONLOOP received a commendation from Jeju Province in recognition of its contribution to building the COVID-19 response system through Jeju Safe Code.
Jeju Safe Code is a Jeju-style tourism quarantine system developed through a public-private partnership between ICONLOOP and Jeju Province, built to fit the particular needs of a region that receives a very large number of visitors. In the roughly one year since its launch in December 2020, it has established itself as the service responsible for local tourism quarantine across Jeju, and it newly entered the travel category of the most popular apps in the second half of 2021.

Over the past year, Jeju Safe Code has been installed at some 56,000 locations across the island — public institutions, shops, tourist sites — covering 95% of Jeju Province. It has also passed 900,000 monthly active users (MAU) and 90 million entry verifications, putting the 100 million mark within reach.

On December 8, a COVID-19 vaccination information feature was added to Zzeung, the DID-based identity verification app that can hold your Jeju Safe Code credential. In line with the strengthened "vaccine pass" rules, you can now submit your COVID-19 vaccination information at the same moment you verify entry — a far more convenient way to use the service.

To put Jeju Safe Code within easier reach of more people, we recently added it to the Shinhan pLay app, which has surpassed 6 million cumulative users, and we are continuing to expand both usability and the surrounding ecosystem.
Thank you to everyone who has given us such support and attention over the past year. Next year we plan to repay it by extending Jeju Safe Code further and delivering a wider range of services.
ICONLOOP will keep growing in 2022.
