A COVID-19 vaccination record service is coming to Zzeung, ICONLOOP's blockchain DID identity app.

ICONLOOP is launching a COVID-19 vaccination record service in Zzeung, its blockchain DID identity verification app.
The DID-based COVID-19 vaccination record service arriving in Zzeung lets you store and manage, safely on your own phone, the vaccination record verified by the Korea Disease Control and Prevention Agency. Because DID (Decentralized Identifier) technology keeps sensitive personal data off the operator's servers, the service is expected to maximize both privacy protection and user convenience.

A technology built for non-face-to-face environments that provides identity verification remotely and puts users directly in charge of their own personal data
Once you have had your COVID-19 vaccination, installing the Zzeung app lets you obtain the vaccination record certified by the Korea Disease Control and Prevention Agency right away and check it whenever you need to. After obtaining the record in Zzeung, you can see the dose number, vaccine type, vaccination date, and whether 14 days have passed since vaccination — all in one place, from the COVID-19 vaccination record banner on the home screen.

You can also use the service through the Jeju Safe Code electronic entry log inside Zzeung. Jeju Safe Code is a service that Jeju Special Self-Governing Province and ICONLOOP operate together to help prevent the spread of COVID-19 and make epidemiological investigation more efficient; it is in use at some 50,000 multi-use facilities across the island by roughly 2 million users. Obtain your COVID-19 vaccination record in the Zzeung app, and you can submit it along with your Jeju Safe Code QR check-in. The Jeju Safe Code app itself will also get the COVID-19 vaccination record service in December.
Back in June, ICONLOOP won the <2021 Blockchain DID Focus Program> run by the Ministry of Science and ICT (MSIT) and the Korea Internet & Security Agency (KISA), as part of a DID consortium formed with SKT, Raonwhitehat, and Coinplug. It has been building the DID-based COVID-19 vaccination record service ever since, in consultation with the Korea Disease Control and Prevention Agency.

With cases surging and tightened measures such as broader vaccine pass requirements now in force, a DID-based COVID-19 vaccination record service gives people more choice while keeping their personal data safe — and it can serve as a real turning point for bringing blockchain technology into the mainstream. ICONLOOP has led this field by continually looking for ways to put DID to work in everyday life: applying DID to identity verification in finance with partners including Shinhan Bank and NH NongHyup Bank, and supporting tourism quarantine through Jeju Safe Code. With this COVID-19 vaccination record service, we will keep working to deliver the practical value of DID.
