MyID Wallet Partners opens a new route for the DID identity platform to grow.
With the launch of MyID Wallet Partners, ICONLOOP is beginning a full-scale expansion of the ecosystem around MyID, its own DID identity verification platform.
A MyID Wallet Partner, newly unveiled here, is an identity wallet institution that issues user DIDs on the MyID platform and stores and submits identity verification data (hereafter credentials). Alongside the existing issuers and verifiers of identity credentials, wallet partners are expected to play a key role in expanding the MyID platform.
For MyID Wallet Partners, ICONLOOP plans to release the MyID Wallet SDK so that partner companies can offer MyID-based DID identity verification inside their own service apps without calling a separate app. As a result, using MyID identity verification is expected to expand beyond ICONLOOP's own Zzeung identity wallet app to the services of the various institutions and companies that join as MyID Wallet Partners.
MyID Wallet Partners can offer credentials already issued on the MyID platform within their own service apps, and they will also be able to participate directly as issuers and issue credentials themselves.
This wallet partner launch is expected to connect more users and more participating institutions to the MyID platform, and to put a wider range of credentials into circulation. Several companies are already in discussions out of interest in becoming wallet partners, and ICONLOOP plans to expand the MyID ecosystem as Korea's leading DID identity verification platform through collaboration with wallet partners across many fields.
