Appointment certificates issued on a blockchain — impossible to forge, easy to present

ICONLOOP has issued blockchain-based appointment certificates for the Korean National Police Agency's big data talent pool. Because these certificates are issued on a blockchain, forgery, tampering, and fraudulent issuance are impossible, and once issued, a certificate can be checked and submitted in seconds through Zzeung, the DID identity verification service.

Zzeung

A blockchain-based DID identity verification service developed by ICONLOOP. Designated an Innovative Financial Service by the Financial Services Commission (FSC), it powers Korea's first DID issuance in the financial sector as well as Jeju Safe Code, the Jeju tourism quarantine system, and it will also carry the mobile driver's license in the future through the ICT regulatory sandbox.

The recipients of these blockchain-based certificates — the Korean National Police Agency big data talent pool — are internal big data specialists appointed in connection with the Police Big Data Platform the agency is building to bring big data and artificial intelligence (AI) into police work. They were appointed to feed frontline, hands-on input into the development and use of these advanced systems and to grow the agency's analytics workforce.

Together with the 58 appointed members of the big data talent pool, the agency's Public Safety Big Data Policy Office plans to use the Police Big Data Platform — which centrally manages public safety, public sector, and private sector data and provides AI analysis tools — to analyze crime and a range of pressing policy questions, and to actively draw on field input from the nationwide talent pool as the platform is refined and its performance strengthened.

Blockchain-based credentials like these are already in use across the public sector, corporations, and education — from this police big data talent pool appointment to Seoul citizen reporter IDs, Seoul Blockchain Governance Group appointment certificates, and degree certificates issued to POSTECH graduates.

ICONLOOP will keep doing everything it can to build a society you can trust, through blockchain technology.
