MOIS Policy Briefing: 'Leading the Digital Transition Through Government Innovation, With a Focus on Encouraging Public Participation'
Starting this year, the Ministry of the Interior and Safety (MOIS) will pursue "Public Data Opening 2.0," an intensive push to share data with high industrial value. It will also introduce the "National Secretary" service, which delivers administrative information relevant to people's daily lives through private-sector applications.
This year MOIS will lead the digital transition through government innovation. It will pursue a demand-driven "Public Data Opening 2.0," concentrating on opening up unstructured data and national priority datasets with high industrial value for artificial intelligence (AI), big data analysis and the like. As the foundation for government-wide data sharing, analysis and use, it will operate a Shared Data Registration and Management System and establish a new Government Integrated Data Analysis Center.
MOIS will issue mobile IDs such as public official ID cards and driver's licenses, along with 300 types of electronic certificates including resident registration cards and abstracts and family relation certificates. By providing MyData services in the public sector and more, it will open the era of digital certification. In response to the shift to non-face-to-face work environments, it will push ahead with building a fifth-generation (5G) national network.
At the same time, it will broaden the base for using private-sector certificates on public websites, and expand "Digital One Pass," which lets people access multiple public websites with a single integrated ID.
We will pursue the Regionally Balanced New Deal and Local Autonomy and Decentralization 2.0 to breathe life into the regions, while accelerating government innovation that leads the digital transition
