451 POSTECH graduates received their degrees as blockchain certificates.
Today, February 5, Pohang University of Science and Technology (POSTECH) issued degree certificates through the blockchain certificate service broof for the second year running, this time to 451 graduates in total — 203 undergraduates, 228 graduate students and 20 students from the Graduate Institute of Ferrous Technology.
POSTECH moved its commencement ceremony online to prevent infection after COVID-19 began spreading in 2020, and has been issuing blockchain-based digital diplomas ever since.

broof, the blockchain-based certificate issuance service developed by ICONLOOP, lets an institution issue certificates without building a separate data system of its own, cutting the cost of producing and storing paper documents. Recipients, for their part, can look up their blockchain certificate whenever and wherever they want, and they choose for themselves how much of the certificate's information to disclose. Certificates issued through broof can also be managed, stored and submitted through Zzeung, the DID identity verification service.

As the COVID-19 pandemic that started last year drags on, changes we once assumed were temporary are turning into permanent ones. At this turning point, ICONLOOP will keep using blockchain technology to build an ecosystem that is more trustworthy and more convenient.
