MyData will ultimately be user-centric, not service-centric

2020.11.13 BlockFesta 2020, ICONLOOP CEO JH Kim

At BlockFesta 2020, hosted by Blockmedia on the 13th, ICONLOOP CEO JH Kim put DID forward as the way out of MyData's contradictory structure, in a talk titled "Data Sovereignty and the MyData Era That DID (Decentralized Identity) Will Open Up." In the talk he explained that "MyData is, as the name says, the idea that you manage your own personal information," and that "with the recent amendment to the related law and the abolition of the accredited certificate, the MyData business is picking up speed."

He also shared that VisitMe, the visitor management service ICONLOOP developed, is being used by more than 100,000 people across some 1,000 venues, and that its usage keeps widening. From there he talked about the growing potential of the service and about expanding the ecosystem through the MyID platform, together with Zzeung, the MyID-based identity verification service, and others to come.

He added that DID will go on to build a user-centric ecosystem rather than a service-centric one, and lead the way into a fairer, more equal MyData era.
