As COVID-19 spread worldwide this year, the Ministry of Health and Welfare designated high-risk facilities and made electronic entry logs mandatory for them as part of its containment and prevention measures.
Recently, however, the resurgence of COVID-19 has exposed the limits of tracing cases only through high-risk facilities. To trace cases more accurately and more precisely, ordinary venues are increasingly finding they need electronic entry logs too.

Unlike a handwritten log, VisitMe works through each visitor's own phone, so there is no risk of one person's personal data being exposed to another, and no shared pen or other vector of infection to worry about. Digitized entry records also make a fast, accurate response possible if a case is confirmed. And rather than having visitors generate a QR code for the venue to scan, VisitMe has visitors scan the QR code posted at the venue — which means several people can check in at the same time instead of queueing up.
The biggest advantage of the VisitMe electronic visitor log is that it comes with options suited to the type of venue. For cafes, restaurants, convenience stores and other places that unspecified members of the public drop into, it offers a service where a visitor scans the QR code, enters their details, and the check-in is done — no separate app to install.
For facilities where the same people come and go repeatedly, such as churches, hospitals and academies, it offers a service where visitor details are entered in advance through the VisitMe app, so a simple scan of the visitor's QR code completes check-in quickly and conveniently, with no extra verification steps.
If a case is confirmed, the VisitMe electronic visitor log lets you download visit records for whatever period you need as an Excel file and submit them straight to the government agency. Records are automatically discarded after a month, so there is no worry about personal data leaking.
